A total of 25 out-of-school youth were given another chance of having a bright future by the concerted efforts of the 125th Squadron and Cavite Dental Association. The financially-challenged youth, aged 18-26 years old, were screened by the Imus Institute Life Skills Development Center to receive a three-month course on Dual Training System (OTS) to include Consumer Electronics Servicing and Mechatronics Servicing. The TESDA and DOLE approved programs ensure that students will immediately find jobs even after a few months of education. Imus Institute (I.I.) partners with various companies to take in their graduates for OJT. "I.I. properly deploys their graduates immediately upon completion of these courses," says LT ARVIN S OBILLA PCGA. The 125th Squadron and Cavite Dental Association provided the Php600.00 entrance and miscellaneous fees for each students. The first batch of donations were granted to nine scholars last September 24 while the second batch was given last November 5. 11 more scholars are yet to be screened and to receive financial assistance from the group. In his inspirational remarks, LCDR ROLANDO V RAMOS PCGA, Chief of Staff of 125th Squadron, encouraged the scholars to persevere, aim high and be a good model to everyone. He shared that poverty shall never be a hindrance to become a better person and have a bright future. The funds donated to the I.I. scholars were gathered from the proceeds of the Fun Shoot for a Cause hosted by 125th Squadron and Cavite Dental Association last June 29. |
