Have you reached a point in your life when you have already achieved your goals and aspirations, met people from all walks of life, learned a great deal, ventured on other pursuits and earned so much, yet sensing that there is something missing?
Have you felt that all of your personal accomplishments are still not enough?
Then it is time to give back.
In a country frequently hit by an average of 20 typhoons a year, joining the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) will provide you an opportunity to be of assistance to less fortunate individuals and victims of natural disasters.
It is through the PCGA’s commitment to advance the cause of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) that we train and become a part of maritime safety and community service, marine search and rescue, marine environmental protection, disaster relief, maintenance of aids to navigation and enhancing maritime community relations through civic actions, youth development programs and recreational safety.
However, the aforementioned duties do not make PCGA your typical Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). Being the “only” uniformed non-governmental organization in the country, PCGA members are granted with honorary military ranks, decorations and ribbons in recognition of their services to the cause of the PCG.
What’s more, members of 125th Squadron are provided with an accident group insurance and other related indemnities should an untoward incident happen while on duty.
PCGA also provide its members, composed of private individuals with day jobs ranging from all related and non-related sectors, the opportunity to step-up their social and professional networks through various CGA events and conventions.
As a final point, Deputy Squadron Director Capt Junmar A Roa PCGA constantly reminds squadron members that “you have earned so much, now it is time to give back”.
