Fluvial processions were commonly held this past few weeks in the province of Cavite as municipalities celebrate their town fiesta in honor of their patron saints.
To ensure maritime safety and security for hundreds of participating devotees, the joint team of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Cavite and 125th Squadron have worked together in conducting crowd control, proper boarding procedures and navigational safety.
Last April 25, Squadron officers have joined CGS Cavite in ensuring maritime safety for the devotees in Brgy. Julugan in Tanza, Cavite as they conduct a two-hour fluvial parade along the shorelines of their community.
On May 10, the 125th Squadron and its partner station also went to sea conduct the same.
Children and people under the influence of alcohol were prohibited from boarding the fluvial boats while the devotees who wish to participate were made to wear life jackets.
CGS Cavite commander, CDR RAUL J BELESARIO PCG directed the safe passage of all boats especially the motherboat. Coast Guard rubber boat and aluminum boat also maintained their positions on the port and starboard sides of the motherboat, respectively, to ensure its clearance and safe distance from the other participating bancas.
