The 125th Squadron and its partner station Coast Guard Station (CGS) Cavite joined hands in conducting marine environmental protection activities in Rosario Cavite on March 21 and 25.
Through the leadership of the Director Auxiliary Squadron (DAS) CAPT JUNMAR A ROA PCGA and Station Commander LT FIDEL D SALLIDAO PCG, a mangrove planting was jointly conducted in La Isla Bonita in Rosario, Cavite where about 3000 saplings were planted.
The activity is a joint project of MAYNILAD, DENR-Cavite, PNP-Cavite and the Coast Guard to restore and protect the part of the Manila Bay Area.
On March 25, the 125th Squadron, 129th Squadron, CGS Cavite and students from the Asian Institute for Maritime Studies (AIMS) have conducted an environmental awareness activity and coastal clean-up in Barangay Kanluran, Rosario, Cavite.
The activity was also participated by Coast Guard Detachment (CGDet) Canacao, CGDet Rosario, CGDet Naic, La Naval Lodge #269, La Guardia Lodge #378 and Bagong Ilaw Lodge #97.
A total of 350 sacks of garbage were collected from the area with approximately 1.7 tons weight.
